In the ever-evolving world of Starfighter design, the varied TIE line of fighters has remained a constant dominating force in the Galaxy for decades. In the age of the Empire, The TIE Interceptor was developed only for the most talented and aggressive pilots. During the rise of the First Order, this legacy continued with the modified and improved TIE Whisper. On-screen we only get to see Klyo Ren pilot one straight into the ground, but based on all available data, this ship could very well be one of the best dogfighters ever built.

This model can seat a minifigure pilot and has a strong display stand design.

This wasn't a regular TIE, but a specially modified one just for Kylo Ren.
According to Wookiepedia this TIE/wi modified interceptor was built with exact specifications designated by Kylo Ren. Technically he is the only person you see flying this ship. Also it says the whisper has more speed, range, and firepower compared to a “standard model”, but the description isn’t clear about what the standard model they are referring to is. It loosely implies that it’s better than a standard First Order TIE Interceptor, but there is technically none that exist in the books, movies, or other canonized material. The TIE Whisper is most likely a First Order Special Forces TIE Interceptor that then had a handful of (mostly internal) upgrades to match with the flying skills of Kylo Ren. My guess is that the only external upgrades added by Kylo were three cannons on either end of the split wing. I only say that because those weapons more closely follow how his original TIE Silencer was set up. It’s also said that he flew another one of these TIE Whispers at a different time in the story so it’s likely he just keeps moding this next best fighter in the fleet after he lost the Silencer (a unique prototype) or just another Whisper. Visually this modified interceptor probably doesn’t look much different compared to what gets mass-produced for the Special Forces regiment, which is why I included a First Order Pilot fig in the cockpit and not a Kyo Ren fig. Next week we are launching the TIE Silencer anyways and I’d rather have just one Kylo in our fleet :P It also goes without saying, but with very few mods to this model, like if you remove the red accented areas, and some of the weaponry, that’s probably close to what a standard First Order TIE Interceptor (none special forces) looks like.
