The AAT (Armored Assualt Tank) Battle Tank served as the primary infantry defense vehicle for the Trade Federation droid army. It was first seen in Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace where it showed its combat effectiveness when fighting the Gungans. It was such a reliable combat service vehicle that they were used by the Separatists in the Clone Wars. Even after some rebels found the Tanks useful enough to convert them for living crews.
